Mental Health Clinician | Registered – Mental Health Nurse

A smiling woman with long brown hair, glasses, and a blue patterned top, standing against a white background with a black circular border.

My name is Heidi Barnett and I am a Registered Comprehensive Nurse.

I am passionate about people becoming resilient and thriving in a world that comes with increasing complexities. Having worked in mental health for more than 25 years across all age groups, I frequently observed broken relationships contributing to deterioration in mental health. Early intervention, by helping parents develop positive relationship with their children and reflecting and understanding different ways children learn, is a significant contributor to a person to being able to thrive and learn how to have healthy relationships.

I have a background in working with families having worked in Child and Adolescent mental health, Youth Forensics and Maternal Mental health. I have training in Acute Stress/Severe Trauma solution focused therapy, Circle of Security and Triple P Parenting.

I currently work at Fresh Minds within the Triple P Positive Parenting Programme. I enjoy empowering parents to navigate the challenges that parenting brings. Focusing on how they can build positive relationships with their children while helping their children learn and develop skills required.

I have 2 children aged 19 and 21. I also enjoy walking my dog and exploring nature.
